I have a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in Professional Writing. I have been on the SCBWI-LA Board for 12 years (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), Along with my dear Friend, author and Illustrator Svett Bycovec, I am co-founder of the  Sand Scribes Children’s Writers Group and co-founder of the Huntington Beach Writing and Illustrating Contest in conjunction with the HB Authors Festival. I am currently president of The Nature Kid, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring Ocean conservation in children. I have recently relocated to the North West (tiny town called Ferndale outside of Bellingham Washington).
